well...with all the random stuffs that i wrote...i'm surprise how little that i write about architecture. You do know that I am an architecture major...and in the future...i do want to teach architecture someday...somehow...so here's one of my many rant about architecture...

Lesson 1

what is concept? what is process?? well...when we were handed a program of a building...we began think about what the building should be. we look for things we felt is important to this building and began to generate a concept. A concept can be anything...it keeps things from being random...it ties everything together. It is like the thesis statement of an essay.

what is process? I see process as a way to get to architecture from the concept. The process...the way to architecture should also relate to the concept. If you want your building to be sustainable and green...your process should also reflect that. Sometimes...process and concept also could reverse. Your can start with a process and imply a concept later.

It shouldn't take long to come up with a concept...but it does take a long time to research on the project...and once done with research which takes a longer time...began to generate a concept. Once you have a concept...the concept need to be develop through an architectural process. Process can be the same with every project...and it can also be unique like the project itself. The process is where the creativity lies...that's where you make your decision about the form, the space, the details, the material, the structure, the system...the everything...

Lesson one is over...no homework
