I am bored...this shows
bad deal
this looks like a design done by some horrible architecture student back in my architecture school days....this one looks much better with more tectonics...
refine simply
Since I was in this design oriented state of being...I'm gonna post this list of 10 phrases that helps your approach to design. I can't say this list helped me in the past because I already do some of this stuffs already. It's just good to go through it and contemplate about your design problems. Hopefully, I can find another good design competition I can and I feel like entering.

1. invent nothing
2. mix everything
3. consult artists
4. refine simply
5. take it further
6. remain enigmatic
7. embrace the old
8. separate shell from contents
9. be bold
10. get to the point

Finished....here's my submittal
Just finished with my submission. It's on the site right now. Since I submitted it...I'm gonna post it up here for you guys to look at or maybe enjoy. It's uploading right now and hopefully it would take that long. I might even add in a little bonus image that I didn't use because it didn't fit in with the scheme of the layout or style. It looks cool and all that...but I'll save that style for another entry. This competition is very fun and it only took on week of my time...and majority of the stuffs I did was on the side so it's not interrupting any regular thing I did. For a week of work...I have to say it's damn good. Remember...if I'm impressed with something...pretty much every
done
As you can see on the posts I have posted for a week or so...I've been busy designing and building a shed competition I entered. It's a month long design competition but I filled design/build my shed in a week. If you follow my post chronologically...you can see how I progressed from my initial model jumble to what I have thus far....sorry...I don't be posting what I have now...I want to put together a competition board and submit it before I show it off...It's more formal and smart that way.

Even I got my model and design completed...I also finished rendering and photoshopping my main perspective views...they all look great. I am really happy with them. I just need to compose them together to have a great competition board. I am not stress out about that...I am just filtering with a good layout ideas that I might want to use. I might do some small renderings on the side to fill the space...we'll see...it's gonna be great...and I love my concept and idea...I should write that here...

Shed Spot

concept: The premise for this shed is to design it like a museum. Why museum? Museum inhabits a wonderful atmosphere which allows us to appreciate arts and artifacts. the installations in museums describe what we are as a society. What we install in this shed is a reflection of who we are as an individual. It is a place for the user to express, cherish, contemplate, and celebrate themself. This is an unique shed compares to the mundane and dullness of a typical shed.

execution: This shed is designed with the idea of forced perspective in mind. Aside from drainage of water, the roof is slated to force the perspective to make the shed appears taller and/or longer. This shed also have a designated seating area next to a window to mimic the atmosphere of a museum cafe. When sitting at that location, the forced perspective widens and expands the shed. The skin of this shed is composed of two contrasting materials. One is a rough, weathered material and the other one is a smooth material often used for museums walls. Having two contrasting materials would influence depth perception and make the shed appears larger.

me in springfield
done

it's finally done...I just have to fix some little stuffs in the model...then I'll move the renderings to photoshop then compose the board.
make the sketch lose it's spirit

first half of my day 5 design activity...It's getting to where I envision this shed to be...but I do think that I might need to clean up the model a little bit...that might take couple of hours just to move the parts around and clean it up as good as I can...we'll see...I might not...but a clean model is always nice...on the other hand...it's hard to have a clean model if I am designing while I'm building...it's like to have a good and clean design sketches...that never occurs...and that would make the sketch lose it's spirit...

day 4...the second half

I did most of the things I plan to do...I got a little side track because I was trying to add in the materials...I like following the plan...but I also like to see how the project can progress...It's progressing wonderful thus far. More to come tomorrow...here's what I added. I added a back window which would be great next to a seat...you can drink you coffee and enjoy the garden view. It is also at a good height where you can look out and down to see some grass. I also added a texture map or corten steel. I like the way that looks...I do however think I need to play around with the mullion color...
happy with

This is the first half of my day 4 design development...I played around with mostly adding some glass and mullions. I also elongated the side slit. I am happy with it...I just have to play with adding a door and some windows tonite. Then I need to play with material and color...then I'm going to add a front coverage to protect the inside from the south sun. After all that...then it's lighting and render....after everything is good and well...photoshop time...I just have to add a background to it and some trees...then add in my vector style entourage...that is it...I just have to write about this shed and compose a competition board...I'm getting there...surely and slowly.

shed day 3 and day 3+20min

The top half was rendered 20 minutes before the bottom. I was just gonna render what I got for the day and call it a day. A little part of the design was bothered me a little bit. It's one of those detail thing. I didn't like how that slit on the left didn't so all the way. The wall marks the interior and exterior...and that slit doesn't have to stop where the interior stops...so it took me about 20 minutes to correct it. I'm sure I'll have more detail adjusting as I progress...I can already spot few of the details stuffs I want to change...namely the openings in the back...I'll figure out a way to integrate windows in to it...it's a good start...I love what I have thus far...still got ways to go...more tomorrow

I rendered these so I thought I can call it a night...but one little detail I wasn't very happy with so I when back in formz to fix it...here it is...

I like this style so much more...I like the inside and outside communication...I'm sure I'll make more little design changes...like what I when thought the last 20 minutes...I'm sure I'll get what I like...enough for today...more tomorrow.

shed design in progress....day 1

Starting to design and build this shed...this render is not very close to what I want yet...there is still ways to go. This rendering is for my process and I just want to see how the perforated steel looks because I have never try that before. I think the steel looks fine...need to give it a little structure...also the shed form needs a little tinker...other than that...it's not bad for couple of hours of work...this is a different design then the one I had in mind and paper...if I finished this one early...I might give my first idea a dip and see...this isn't in lightwave...it's in formz currently but I might import it in LW to see the outcome...but I think I'll be loose and just render lines and shadow and collage it...maybe even print it out and draft it by hand....ideas are limited...but all of them are mine and I love them...cheers
foregone letter
Ah...back from a long weekend of camping out in Inyo with my friends. It's a fun outing. We fished, hiked, talked, chilled, and adventure searched. That's about it. It's good to be out in the woods and enjoy nature and stars. It is great. I can still see and feel my great time out by just looking at my arms cause I am all tanned up. great.

I will be uploading some pictures pretty soon...I took mostly panoramic so it takes a little more time to develop those on e autostitch. I like that program but it's been acting up. I guess it might be the photos I took too...can't count them all...it will be what it will be. Wait for the uploads

Before my trip...I send a letter to a girl I liked and it's about her not replying back to a foregone letter that I didn't sent her. I sent her a letter I wrote her 3 years ago because our relationship was very awkward and giving her that letter might make out relationship a little more bearable. So I emailed it to her 3 years late. I finally got her reply about how she felt...she's speechless but she's glad we clear the air and there is a closure in the situation. I am glad and I feel like. I will write her a great thank you tomorrow...maybe I'll give her a bonus...something like that....

idea roughly
Watching my Giants now. They are having a lackluster season. It's a downer but it's not the end of the world. They will always be my team to watch and to cheer.

Other then that...I will be out camping starting tomorrow night. I will be heading out to mammoth lake tomorrow afternoon and set up camp tomorrow night. Then it's all fishing, hiking, and chilling with my bros.

I am still playing with lightwave...don't have to elaborate on that since I still post quite a few of the result. Just to make sure you guys aren't worry about my computer stuffs...I am still designing on paper. I am currently designing a garden shed for a competition which is dude in the beginning of august. I'm cranking it out. I got my idea roughly sketched out...I just need to add some details and make some hard/easy decision to those details and materials stuffs...I then gonna put it in computer...render it out....maybe I trace it over with pencil then rescan it and photoshop it. I've done that before because I want to pay tribute back to my hands because that's how it started. How you start is how you finish. Thanks Marco. You will always play an important role in my life and career.

newest lightwave rendering
but you're impressed
I chat very often with friends online. Very often I would say something funny, stupid, funny and stupid...and a lot of other stuffs. I guess I should post some of those lines up thanks to the log manager provided by Deadaim....on it goes.

kinda like lasso, filter, layers in PS

it took up some time but we eventually mastered it...binding and printing

seriously...I brought the rare duplex printer...we found the site...we got that hole punching deal...got the clue...got a 2 by 4 on the floor

perfect bind sounds good.....after a year...my book is still going strong

yea...there's really no creativity out there...most of them just gonna harsh it out by just "buying" a service and not even trying to "do" something

showing what you can do with paper to a japanese guy...it's a plus

then say you hate what gehry did to paper...but you're impressed with what shigeru ban did to paper

does gehry form serves any function other than wasting money and labor

i hate gehry cause he only pay lose change and not tribute to those engineers and designers that slaved to design it...and those workers that sweated over those functionless fishes

roadtrip is not 100 percent destination...the journey is pretty much 95 percent of the fun

I'm not at the point of asking susanna for a virginia slim

nothing is as bad as a horrible old guy playing his bagpipes for hours on end at the park across from my room

that's just the last few days...more to come maybe...

another lightwave try...learning a lot...
so right, so wrong
"so right, so wrong...another winter's coming on"

That's a line from the lyrics of a Jawbreaker song "Ache"

"you win, you lose...it's the same old news"

That two statements is pretty much an oxymoron. A phrase with 2 contradictory statements together...that's always great to read or listen to music that have statement like that because it makes you think.

If an actual person is doing contradictory things to you...that person is being hypocritical. I hate that. There's no ethics. Saying one thing and doing another is not a value. A friend of mine is inviting me out to SF so we can hang out when she travel there. She told me she's going to get tickets for a show and she invited me and a girl who I think is very contradictory. I said no to the invitation. I also gave her an explanation of my rejection...that's the story.

Afterword: Please listen to Jawbreaker. It's the best band there is. They are no longer together but the hard indie rock and wonderful and meaningful lyrics are just wonderful. I don't consider them a emo band but a lot of people consider them the forefront in the early 90s that influenced a lot of young musicians to have an emo rock band. Jawbreaker is not an emo band...

that's pretty much it/enough
What is this post about?? I don't know yet. I just want to write. So I guess this is one of those rational/irrational bypass of thoughts. What the fucking hell...I'll just write whatever comes to my mind.

I got an email from a friend...who got a plan to visit SF for a weekend. She is planning to see a show in a theater with some friends and invited me to go...I might go...I know one of the friend of hers that might go to. That other girl is a fucking hypocrite. How so...she blame me on the stuffs she didn't do. Why don't she fucking blame herself. She told me that I am being an introvert with my stuffs...she never told me anything. She also said she want to keep in touch with her...I guess she think keeping in touch with her is fucking easy when she switch her number and number with out notifying me..and her douche bag of a boyfriend is not a surprise...I hope he doesn't go if I go to see this play.

I guess that's enough venting...I don't even want to start with that other friend that got girl problem. He's pretty much is asbestos. Other than being a old, useless, cancer causing "flame " "retardant"...he's a losing cause.

I've been playing with formz last couple of days trying to design a house to incorporate a few of my ideas...I also want to freshen up my formz and design skills...I also want to render a movie of the model...that would be fucking fun and great.

what else...

that's pretty much it/enough

needed some time to think it out
haven't posted anything the last few days. the reason for that is i was out of town for the weekend. me and a friend went to a friend's house by the beach and we spent a nice weekend chilling and hanging out by the beach and many other things. i won't talk too much in this post. if i feel like it, i'll talk about it in my upcoming post. i got some stuffs to think about and stuffs i need to consider. i needed some time to think it out.
